I’ve been faulted for being too matter of fact in my art sales.. “What is the wall size in the space your thinking of hanging this?” It’s more difficult for me sharing my personal feelings about a piece I created. I have decided that if a client loves the painting they will buy it. I do know I have sacrificed many sales since I’m not a closer. I see it all over their face they WANT me to push them forward. 👩🎨

20 years of successful sales career, i agree with most of what he says. However hes very wrong to say "Drop the Enthusiasm", what ?! Sales is a transfer of Enthusiasm! However,great sales people do not greet with 100% enthusiasm the moment they greet a first time prospect. THATS RIDICULOUS! Thats amateur hour. You greet someone with respect with normal energy. Fact finding/Discovery of their needs and wants. Find the problem and offer a solution with in engaging Enthusiasm! Which doesn't mean you have to be at 100% of energy. It can be done with a moderate level of energy. It doesn't necessarily have to be over the top but just enough to get the prospect excited! I work in an industry where sales people make close to a million a year and I can tell you enthusiasm does work! You just need to know when and how to use it!!

Lol, sometimes the disqualification process goes like this: Client: I don't like you. Salesperson: Maybe we aren't a good fit, I understand. I will get Joe to help you going forward. Thank you for being honest with me! What the client hears from the salesperson is: you're not worth my time, my value is best served by more important clients. You are literally taking away their ability to chose you anymore. I have seen customers back up and give me another chance, and become my most loyal customers. They are just testing your devotion to them, and their money. Rarely does a client truly dislike someone. Those types of clients like to shake things up, to see how you react. They want to see how you respond to a supposed emotional put down. Let them win. But, I will still close that sale😊
